DuBOIS, Pa. — The Penn State DuBois Office of Student Engagement will welcome students and members of the public to Hiller Auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 30, for a performance from Pan-Celtic rock band Barleyjuice.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Based in Philadelphia, Barleyjuice is known for blending traditional Irish music with modern rock elements. The band is praised by critics for creating a sound that feels as though it originated from Ireland, despite its American roots. They achieve this unique sound by incorporating classic Irish instruments, such as bagpipes, violins and mandolins, alongside rock staples like electric guitars and drums. This fusion results in a lively, energetic mix of folk and rock, which has earned Barleyjuice a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim for their ability to both honor traditional Celtic music and push its boundaries.

Their music, often described as both raucous and heartfelt, creates an atmosphere where the listener can almost imagine themselves at an Irish pub or festival, while also appealing to fans of modern rock and folk music. Barleyjuice's approach represents a creative and innovative take on Celtic music, making it accessible and exciting for a wide range of listeners.

The program is presented by the Penn State DuBois Office of Student Engagement as part of the Diversity, Arts, and Lecture Series. For more information, contact Haley Rummel, student engagement assistant, through email at [email protected] or via phone at 814-375-4851.
